Some people, like me, choose to attend online school for other reasons. I attend an online high school because I like to be more focused on my education. I found that in regular schools teachers and students usually don't care much about the actual learning. It is more about socializing.
Others may think online school or homeschooling means that a student can't socialize. Actually, students have many opportunities to socialize through volunteer work, school field trips, clubs, and more. It all goes down to the student's preferred way of learning.
Some people believe that online individualize schooling is the way of the future. GCP Grey has a video entitled Digital Aristotle where he talks all about what he thinks online learning could do. I think to extent this is right. But sometimes a human teacher sitting in front of you can help way more than they can through the internet. Some skills can't be taught online entirely, like trades and various art forms. But I do think online school could and should be more implemented at the younger grades to help individualize lessons to hopefully get every kid to the same skill level once they get to high school.
ReplyDeleteHuda--Your new entries have good topics and ideas for explorations, and you bring up some thoughtful comments and questions. However, you tend to cut yourself off. Keep expanding your discussion, don't just start the discussion with a few thoughts and questions--develop it more. Good visual appeal and writing flow.
